Delete your GlassWall account

Last updated: 1 August 2026

You can delete your GlassWall account yourself, from inside the app, without contacting anyone. If you can no longer sign in, you can request deletion by email instead. Both routes are described below, along with exactly what is and is not removed.

Deletion is permanent. There is no grace period and no way to restore the account afterwards.

Option 1 — delete it in the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

  1. Open the GlassWall app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete account.
  4. Read the summary of what will happen, then tap I understand, continue.
  5. A screen headed One more step lists the checks we will run on the account. Tap Continue.
  6. Confirm it is really you. If your account has a password you will be asked for it; then tap to have us text a code to your registered phone number, and enter that code. The code is what actually authorises the deletion, and it expires after five minutes.
  7. Type DELETE in the confirmation box and tap the delete button.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. You do not need to reinstall the app or contact support to do this.

Things that will stop the deletion

The app will tell you if any of these apply, and what to do about each one. Deletion is not blocked permanently — resolve the item and you can continue.

  • You have an outstanding balance owed to GlassWall or a club.
  • You are currently in a match that is in progress.
  • A score dispute involving you is still waiting on club staff to review it.
  • You are the only owner of a club on GlassWall. Deleting removes you from that club’s staff, so make someone else an owner first — the app names the clubs concerned.

If you never finished signing up

An account that stopped partway through sign-up never reaches Settings, so there is a Delete this account link at the bottom of the sign-up screens themselves. It asks you to confirm once and then removes the account outright — there is nothing attached to it yet, so there is no code to enter and nothing is retained.

If there is no phone number on your account

We cannot text a code to an account that never confirmed a number. The app says so and points you at support; use Option 2 below.

Option 2 — request deletion by email

If you have lost access to the phone number on the account, no longer have the app installed, or otherwise cannot complete the steps above, email us and we will delete the account for you.

Subject: Account deletion request

So that we can find the right account and confirm it is yours, please include:

  • the phone number the account was registered with;
  • the email address on the account;
  • the name shown on your player profile;
  • at least one club you have played at through GlassWall.

We will only act on a request we can verify, because deleting an account is irreversible and we will not do it on an unverified say-so — we may ask you one or two further questions to confirm ownership. We acknowledge requests within 7 days and complete verified requests within 30 days. There is no charge.

What deletion removes

  • Your name, username, email address, phone number, profile photo, notification preferences, push-notification token, and home club are cleared from your profile. Your display name becomes “Deleted player”.
  • Your saved payment cards are detached and your customer record with our payment processor is deleted.
  • Your upcoming bookings are cancelled. Refunds follow the club’s normal cancellation rules: a booking cancelled after the cancellation deadline shown when you booked it is not refunded.
  • Your notification history, match invitations, and any support or front-desk conversations you have had with us — including the messages in them — are deleted outright, not anonymised.
  • Your account is disabled and can no longer be signed into.

Your sign-in identifiers are released: your phone number is unbound from the account and any Google or Apple sign-in connection is removed, so the same number or social account can be used to sign up again later. If you do come back, you start as a completely new player — you retake the skill self-assessment, and your previous rating, matches, and history are not carried over to the new account.

What deletion does not remove

Deletion does not erase your activity from our database, and we would rather tell you that plainly than let you find out later.

  • Your matches and results stay. Every player you have played against has a rating calculated from those matches. Removing your side of them would corrupt their history. Your name is replaced with “Deleted player” wherever it appears.
  • Your rating figures stay on a stripped-down profile record, for the same reason.
  • Payment, package, and club finance records stay. These are accounting records that we and the clubs are required by UAE law to retain, and we cannot delete them on request. They are deleted at the end of the statutory retention period.
  • One restricted record of your name, email address, and phone number stays for seven years, so those financial records can still be matched to a person if you or an authority asks us about them later. It is not visible in the app or to club staff, and it does not stop you signing up again with the same number. If you never made a booking or a payment, it is not created at all.

We do not describe a deleted account as anonymous. An account identifier still attached to specific matches, at a named club, on given dates, against named opponents can be recognised by the people who were in those matches. Deletion removes your identity from public view and ends our ability to contact or identify you from the record on its own; it does not make the underlying history untraceable.

The full detail is in the Privacy Policy, which lists exactly which fields are cleared and which are kept.
